Attention Students: As you begin registering for CASEF, please note the following CASEF policy:

If your project meets one or more of the following conditions:

1. Was or will be performed over a school break (in other words when school is not in session) and does not / did not have approval from either your school sponsor OR CASEF before starting data collection

2. Was or will be performed outside of our service area during a time when school is not in session

3. Was completed before the start of the school year and did not receive school or CASEF approval before starting data collection

4. Was completed at a Regulated Research Institution under any of the situations listed in #1-3 above.

Then you must do the following by 10/26/2026

1. Submit a copy of your research plan in STEMWIZARD

2. Submit your signed paperwork – particularly form 2A into STEMWIZARD

CASEF will then determine if your project meets the rules and can be allowed to participate in this year’s fair or if a new direction should be figured out.  This is not for projects that have been carried out with your school sponsor and already have their approval.  This is for projects that were performed outside or the service area and were not vetted beforehand.  If we cannot determine that the student completed the research and that the proper approvals were obtained prior to experimentation that project will not be allowed to participate this year.  The student will be given the option of completing another project for this year’s fair which does meet the guidelines and can be verified.

ISEF has updated their forms and policies. Please make sure you review these changes. There are some important changes to review as they may affect projects the students want to do.

ISEF created a companion guide for all their forms. This is a very helpful resource.

CASEF created a 2 page student handout and slides to help guide students on the process.

The ISEF links on the Forms and Resources page have been updated for 2027.
